- Gather Hand Tools: Vinyl Siding Removal Tool, Hammer and Pliers.
- Use the vinyl siding removal tool to grip and move the damaged panel away from the house.
- Remove the nails from the nailing strip holding the damaged panel.
- Unlock the damaged panel by pushing downwards.
- Replace the damaged panel with the new panel.
- Lock the new panel in place by pushing up.
- Rehammer nails.
- Stretch lower lip of above panel over new panel and apply pressure.

- Gather Hand Tools: Screwdriver, Hammer, Glue and Sandpaper.
- Remove the Wood by using the screwdrive as a wedge and hammering it peel the wood away from the house.
- Remove the nails from the butt edge of the board below.
- Cut the new board to same size as previous board.
- Use sandpaper to smooth the wood.
- Apply Waterproofing.
- Apply second coat of waterproofing using a special coating of paint.
- Apply second coating of paint to match current exterior color.
- Slide the new board in.
- Slide a new board in, and apply waterproofing.
- Rehammer Nails.
